christmas music

the "happy christmas" playlist is now in full force! i really try to not listen to christmas music until december but i cheated this year due to "winter song" being played on gossip girl a few weeks ago combined with seeing mindy over thanksgiving... that girl loves christmas music. have you started listening to it yet? what are your favorites? i know that i am lacking something that i just neeeeed to download from itunes.

here are my all-time favorites:
winter song by sara bareilles
merry christmas, happy holidays by n*sync
o, come all ye faithful by chris tomlin
all i want for christmas is you by mariah carey
happy xmas by sarah mclachlan
its the most wonderful time of the year by amy grant
have yourself a merry little christmas by diana krall
baby its cold outside by etta james

today

it began a little unusually for me...
this morning we {the future bride & myself}
 hit up the pilates class at the rec.
for those of you that i know and love- i am sure
that you just laughed a little to yourself...
time is not being wasted here my friends. not at all

also, happy last day of november!
can you believe december arrives tomorrow.
if only we were bringing in december as usual...

Last night was one of those moments in life where I wish I could freeze time.
It was the perfect little evening full of anticipation, excitement,
friends {and more friends} and a lotta love.
It was the first time that I have been with all of these people in a long time.
I love these people dearly. These people are college to me.
And this pose will always be ayrshire. lylas.

trees + fall

via me and central park

finally.

i just said farewell to texas a&m for the next FIVE days. yep... and i am beyond excited. well actually i am beyond excited about a few things, TONIGHT i get to have a sleepover with katie c and katie b and then we {kitty and myself} are headed to nac town tomorrow. I LOVE GOING HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS! there is nothing better in the world... right?

and then all of that thanksgiving goodness awaits... did you know that i love dressing. looovvvvvveeeeeee it meaning i eat it for days and days after thanksgiving! plus i heard on the radio today that if your favorite part of thanksgiving is dressing, then you are a traditional person with a flare for adventure and a spark of wild behavior. [i love that...]

::fall has arrived in texas::

is anyone else excited about this?...
i turned the heat on this morning! and then drank my coffee happily...
this happiness not only stems from this fall weather but it is also my
LAST BAD WEEK OF SCHOOL EVER!
{which is why my blog is suffering. sorry friends}

its also one week until Thanksgiving break...
and since i feel like i am one of the only few people
in this world that is not already listening to Christmas music-
this excites me.  So does this wonderful piece of music,
and this and these too. Christmas shopping is soooo close now

a blonde moment?

This past week while in The Empire State, I realized something...
blondes are rare- very rare. On Thursday night, I was told that I
looked like a "dixie chick."  My only thought, please let it be the
pretty one and not the one that hates George Bush?

Its a slow day at work. Can you tell?

new york recap.

is it too much to say that i love that city.
the weather, the people, the atmosphere, the energy, the love,
the need for truth, the style, the work ethic, the ecclecticism?,
the feeling of being alive, of working for something greater
than myself... i love new york city.

I had the opportunity to meet with five different companies
while I was in town.  Each one had something completely
different to offer... each one was a truly nyc company.
From magazines, to events, to music... they were fun.

I was also SO very lucky to see tons of texans, aggies,
new yorkers, friends! while I was in town.  To say the least,
people made sure I loved every second of my trip.
From college friends to intern friends- it was a blast.
I felt recharged, energized, and excited.  I still feel this way.
I am ready for January.  I only hope that New York is
ready for me... still crossing my fingers.

central park

leaves. leaves. and more leaves.
i LOVE new york in the fall.
central park was a beautiful site on friday afternoon!

...just pretty enough to solidify a move in early january.

november + new york

oh my gosh... it was an INCREDIBLE trip.
i did not want to leave, i even joked about canceling
my flight home, which was not at all an option.
i took this picture on day 1 in my old neighborhood.

::out of town::

I am currently procrastinating packing for my trip- i leave town at 10 am tomorrow morning and not one single thing has been folded, packed, crossed off my list, and the last minute target run has been postponed until morning... its going to be an early Wednesday morning around here. {its always early for kcrawf :)}  In my defense, I have not packed because I have no idea what to take to new york for the fall. I have meetings on Thursday, its supposed to rain :(. For those of you who aren't familiar with new york rain, its terrible. {I am certain that it actually rains sideways causing any umbrella to turn inside out, along with turning your choice of footwear into water shoes = not fun at all for interviews}. And then I am also having trouble deciding what forty degrees means in regards to outerwear.  In Texas, it would mean uggs, scarf, heaviest jacket owned, and possibly gloves? I'm not sure that it means that in nyc. And don't worry friends, my uggs are not making the interview trip... maybe next time? To wrap up this meaningless post, I would love your prayers for this trip. I am meeting with a lot of people about everything in regard to my future life in new york. Back in Texas on Sunday, crossing my fingers for some big news! {I would absolutely love it if you would cross yours too? Thanks!}
